Life includes mold. There’s just not much we can do to avoid it. But sometimes it gets a little out of hand and we have to do something about it.
That was the situation recently when I used Concrobium House & Deck Wash and Mold Stain Eraser to clean and restore a metal roof at my mother-in-law’s house.

Eco-Friendy and Safe For Plants
Finding a chemical that can kill mold is easy. You probably have some bleach under the kitchen counter right now. But bleach is harsh, harmful to the environment, and certainly not something you want to use around plants.
My dear mother-in-law is what you might call a “green-thumb” and that’s putting it mildly. She hangs out at plant nurseries for fun and her yard looks a little bit like a botanical garden. If you look closely you’re bound to run into something that makes you say “wow, what’s this?”
It goes without saying, in a situation like that, bleach isn’t an option!
Concrobium Products are environmentally friendly and safe around plants. I’ve used this combination of products on two outdoor projects now and sprayed it all over lots of plants without harming anything but the mold I wanted to get rid of. So for this project, I knew what I needed to use.
Step One – Concrobium House & Deck Wash
Using the Concrobium House & Deck Wash is easy! Just connect a normal garden hose. The bottle has a setting to spray the Concrobium mix or water. So you can do your spraying and mixing without disconnecting the hose.
Step Two – Concrobium Mold Stain Eraser
After you’re done with the initial cleaning using the House & Deck Wash, the Concrobium Mold Stain Eraser is mixed up with hot water (mixing instructions are on the bottle) and is ready to apply in minutes. For something like this roof, I used a simple garden pump sprayer to apply the product.
You don’t do anything to it after you spray it on. You just leave it and it goes to work on any remaining mold stains on the surface.
The results for this roof were dramatic, and the best part is I didn’t hurt any of that beautiful tropical landscaping!
